FIND YOUR FIT!

Small groups for everyone!

Creative Writing
Is writing something that gives you joy? Do you like to journal or write poetry? Do you keep a diary? Do you have the desire to write a short story or a book? Are you a story teller? Have you ever thought about writing your memories down to pass along to family as part of your legacy?

If your answer is YES...

THEN, YOU ARE THE PERFECT PERSON FOR OUR GROUP!

We will focus on committing our thoughts to paper. Topics could be anything in your life - family, pets, vacations, how your day is going, your spiritual journey, God's leading in your life, etc. It could involve your imagination to tell a story you created in your mind. It can be something serious or funny. We will not be limited to one particular format. Each person will be assisted in developing his/her own style. Our goal is to have fun and enjoy the process, not to get something published!

We will do some writing exercises when we are together, but most of your writing will occur outside the group time. At times I will provide you with prompts on what topic to choose. Other times, someone else might offer a suggestion. Our group time will be used to share what we have written, to talk about the process, and to help each other problem solve when we encounter barriers. I have a workbook suggestion that can help us in this process.

Out time together will consist of prayer, Bible study, writing exercises, and of course, some food. (After all, you can't write if you aren't fed! lol)

Come join the fun! I look forward to leading this group. Gathers will be determined by the group.

Led by Rita Carbuhn.

This group meets Tuesdays at 2pm in the Hope classroom at SJC.
Beginnings
If you or your spouse has taken the Genesis class, this group is for either or both of you. Come be a part of this group of folks who have learned of God's plan for the ages from the BEGINNING! We will gather to share life through fellowship, fun, faith, and of course, food! Come hungry and bring a food item to share!

This group will reflect on a teaching from Genesis each time we meet. Our interactions will naturally encourage one another to reflect our true worth as God's greatest creation - His image bearers! Our faith will grow as well as our friendships and connections as family. The group will also explore short term mission opportunities where we can make a difference by taking Christ outside the walls of our church.

There will be something fun for everyone so please join in the fun! Gathers will be at 7pm on the second and fourth Thursday each month in the Crossroads classroom at SJC.

The goal is simple: build community, encourage healthy living, and create a space where relationships grow both on and off the court.

This group is perfect for people who enjoy light competition, fellowship, and connecting with others in a relaxed setting. Paddles and beginners are always welcome!

Gathering times will be decided by the group and there may be a small cost involved in court rentals.

Home Study
This small group is centered on discovering and experiencing the depth of God's love for us. Together we will reflect on how God's love shapes our identity, transforms our hearts, and empowers us to love others.

Through Bible Study, honest conversation, and prayer, this group will help participants move beyond simply knowing about God's love to truly receiving and living in it. The Faith & Fellowship Book Club
The Faith and Fellowship Book Club is a small group for those who enjoy reading, thoughtful discussion, and and growing together through a variety of books. What makes this group unique is that each participant has the opportunity to choose a book for the group as as the study progresses. This allows everyone to bring their interests, insights, and favorite authors to the table.

The books may include Christian living, theology, spiritual growth, biographies, or other meaningful works that encourage reflection and conversation. As we read together, we will discuss what we're learning, how the ideas connect with our faith, and how we can apply those insights to our lives.

This group is perfect for people who enjoy reading, sharing ideas, and building community through engaging conversation.

Come join a community of readers as we grow in wisdom, faith, and friendship - one book at a time.

Meeting times TBD

Sermon Discussion
The Sermon Discussion Group is a small group designed to help participants reflect more deeply on the pastor's message from Sunday worship. Each week we gather to revisit the sermon, discuss the key Scriptures and themes, and explore how God's Word applies to our everyday lives.

This group provides a welcoming environment where participants can ask questions, share insights, and encourage one another in living out the truths we hear on Sunday. By discussing the sermon together, we seek to move from simply hearing the Word to truly understanding and applying it.

Whether you want to deepen your understanding of the message, grow in your faith, or build meaningful relationships within the church, this group offers a space to engage God's Word together.

Gatherings are on Wednesday mornings at 10am in the Crossroads classroom.

Walking Group
This group is designed for anyone looking to improve their physical health while growing spiritually alongside others. We will be a kid-friendly group for parents wanting to participate. Inspired by verses like 1 Timothy 4:8 ("physical training is of some value, but Godliness has value for all things"), we'll combine regular group walks with meaningful conversation, prayer, and encouragement.

Each gathering includes a time of walking together at your own pace, followed by a short devotional, discussion, and prayer. Whether you're just starting your health journey or already enjoy walking, this group provides a welcoming, low-pressure environment to connect, move, and grow.

Gatherings will be determined by the convenience of participants.
